Project Scope and Key Features
The project’s scope was extensive, focusing on a complete overhaul of the property’s interior and a significant new addition. Key aspects of the work included:
- Design & Planning: HAL Construction were responsible for the structural design and implementation on this project. Working alongside architects and building control, we put together plans for the steel beams and footing requirements for the extension on the property and got these agreed and finalised.
- Structural: Our team carried out all the structural work on the project to include the steel beam installation and the foundations for the extensions. These were signed off at each stage of the project by building control.
- Utility Upgrades: A new, efficient underfloor heating system was installed, along with a boiler and water heat upgrade, to improve energy performance. Solar panel cables and EV chargers were incorporated into the design and installation for the customers future requirements.
- Interior and Finishing Work: The home’s interior was completely refitted with new features. This included the installation of two new bathrooms, a new lounge and media wall, a dedicated utility room, and an understairs shower room. A state-of-the-art new kitchen and fitted wardrobes were also installed to maximise both style and functionality. The property required replastering, rewiring and replumbing to allow for the additional features and to bring the house utilities up to modern standards.
- Expansion and Exterior Work: The property was expanded with a 6 x 4m extension to the rear, which included the addition of two roof skylights to bring in natural light and large open bifold doors. The exterior was also revitalised with a new front door, an upgraded drainage system and soakaway, and the creation of a new patio and a low-maintenance astro turf grass lawn.
- Sustainable and Modern Additions: Looking to the future, the project also included the installation of solar power cables and EV charger, positioning the home for a future transition to renewable energy.
